I have filed suit and argued to verdict a number of commercial collection cases exceeding fifty thousand dollars, wherein business owners refused to pay substantial commercial debts.  I successfully defended counter claim litigation in many of those cases.  

I have filed suit and obtained emergency Temporary Restraining Orders in cases where my clients’ business interests were suffering irreparable harm.

I have represented the following:

  • International clients who filed suit against a Fortune 500 company that required travel to Maine, Belgium and France for depositions. I did battle against a large corporate law firm and corporate counsel and worked with my client’s international corporate counsel to successfully resolve the case at mediation with a high six figure settlement.  
  • Local manufacturing companies in the defense of lien claims when assembly line equipment installed at their plant did not perform as promised and negotiated a significant reduction of the balance claimed owing.
  • Local plumbers, concrete companies, electricians, and contractors by filing and perfecting liens against business or home owners who refused to pay for substantial work and labor performed.  In many cases I have filed suit to perfect lien claims and have settled many lien claims to the satisfaction of my clients.
  • Local Limited Liability Company members who were locked out of their businesses by other member owners and denied participation.
  • Majority business owners in actions brought by minority owners claiming suppression. I have worked with majority business owners to remove minority owners causing damage to their business reputation.


I have over twenty five years experience litigating complex business disputes in the courts of Alabama. I have taken a number of cases to verdict after a jury trial and in a few of those cases have successfully represented clients at the appellate level both in the Alabama Court of Civil Appeals and the Alabama Supreme Court.
